Overview

Problem

SMEs need a practical way to find suppliers and start a conversation without jumping into a full transaction marketplace.

Solution

Chiboor is a supplier discovery directory: public search, supplier-facing listing management, authentication, and an admin surface for moderation. Branding is Chiboor even if internal folders still use an older codename.

Architecture

Next.js App Router frontend with TypeScript, Supabase authentication, and PostgreSQL-backed data. Public discovery, supplier portal foundations, and admin moderation are separated by role.

Challenges

  • Keeping discovery, supplier self-service, and admin tools distinct.
  • Avoiding marketplace claims the product does not fulfill yet.
  • Publishing a usable demo while internals continue to evolve.

Results

  • Live public demo at chiboor-demo.vercel.app.
  • Working public search and auth-oriented product surfaces.
  • Clear portfolio positioning under the Chiboor brand.

Lessons learned

  • Brand consistency matters even when repo folders lag behind.
  • A discovery directory is easier to ship honestly than a half-built marketplace.
  • Demo quality is a first-class portfolio signal for product work.
