Digital banking focus

Day-to-day IdeaHub work around APIs, SQL, logs, and careful release support.

REST APIs

Build and maintain Spring Boot services for payments, fund transfers, accounts, transactions, exchange rates, and status handling.

Oracle SQL

Use SQL checks during investigations to confirm data state, narrow fault scope, and support reproducible evidence.

Production troubleshooting

Work SIT/UAT and production-related issues with Java logs, Spider logs, payloads, correlation references, and API timing.

Evidence gathering

Write root-cause notes stakeholders can act on. Prefer logs and request/response comparison over guesswork.

Team workflows

Coordinate with BA, QA, mobile/web, and bank-side teams through Jira, controlled releases, and clear technical hand-offs.

Honest scope

This is API and investigation work inside a larger banking platform. It is not ownership of Temenos T24 or proprietary bank systems.

  1. Software Engineer / Backend Java Developer

    Current Role

    September 2026 – Present

    Current designation. Java backend and REST API work for digital banking, plus application support and investigation.

    • Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot services and REST APIs for banking workflows, with attention to reliability, testing support, and controlled releases.
    • Support DFCC digital banking flows: payments, fund transfers, accounts, transactions, exchange rates, status handling, and error investigations.
    • Investigate SIT/UAT and production-related issues using Java logs, Spider logs, Oracle SQL, payloads, correlation references, and API timing. Document root cause for stakeholders.

    • Look at Spider/middleware behaviour on Linux (timeouts, waiting time, slow core calls) to isolate integration faults.
    • Work with Python middleware and integration services for API/service integration, log analysis, debugging, and production troubleshooting.

    • Built and continue to improve Yasaboy.com, a local-first browser tools/PWA platform with 100+ utilities for PDFs, documents, media, developer tools, Sinhala typing, QR/barcode, and daily tasks.
    • Ship own products including Smart AAC (trilingual offline assistive communication) and Serixa (open-source PHP UI framework).
    • Freelance and client work: Chiboor (B2B supplier discovery), an OpenCV recruit system, an animal survey app for the Sri Lankan government, plus mobile apps, school systems, POS systems, and client/shop website creation.
